FAQ

SHOULD I TRIM MY WICK

Your candle will arrive with the wick appropriately trimmed for the first burn. For subsequent burns please trim back to 1/4 inch and clip off any accumulated carbon.

WHY IS THE FIRST BURN SO IMPORTANT

The first burn sets the memory of your candle. Allow the wax to melt fully across the surface, reaching the edges of the vessel before extinguishing. This is called a "full melt pool" and helps your candle burn evenly each time, preventing tunneling and preserving its clean form.

For best results, try to burn your candle for 2–3 hours at a time — a little longer for larger vessels — and always trim the wick before relighting.

IS THERE A MAXIMUM BURN TIME?

We alway suggest not burning longer than four hours as the sides of the vessel may become warm. Burning on a heat resistant surface is also recommended.

WHAT’S IN OUR CANDLES?

We create with coconut soy wax as it is plant based and renewable. Our wax contains no toxins, carcinogens or pollutants, and we don't use any dyes. Coconut soy wax is known to burn cleanly and longer than other waxes. Our fragrances all abide by Canada's strict safety guidelines and Data Sheets can be provided if requested. All our fragrances are dye, paraben, phosphates and phthalate free!

WHAT IS A "WET SPOT"

Good question!! You may notice what looks like water or moisture on the inside of your jar. Technically it's neither but it is often referred to as a wet spot. It's actually a side that has pulled away slightly from the jar, it's lost it's adhesion. This happens in temperature fluctuations, it may happen during shipping, storage, at a later date in your home, and it can even come and go, but be assured it has absolutely NO impact on the candle's performance. It's most obvious in clear or white frosted jars but it's happening in all of them... you just can't see it.

Soy wax is the biggest culprit and coconut soy wax is next. We do as much as we can to achieve and maintain excellent adhesion but occasionally wet spots are unavoidable, and once again, do not change the candles performance and will eventually disappear as you burn the candle.
